He is handicapped in every which way that Gods almost never are. Short, stout and slow, his physicality belies his power. Turning his drawbacks into his strengths, he is not physically disabled at all, he is just differently abled, is all.

తేడా

దొప్ప చెవుల అర్ధమేమిటయా అంటే
గొప్ప మాటలు వినుటందుకనేవు
చికిలి చూపుల దృష్టి దేనికయా అంటే
నిశితమును నేర్చుకుందుకనేవు
ఏకదంతపు ఉదంతము ఉటంకించమంటే
పనిపైని శ్రద్ధ మరలకూడదనేవు (***)
ఉరగబంధపు ఉదరమేమిటయా అంటే
మితుల నీతులు మరవకుండుటకు గాననేవు
అంత కాయమునకు అంతే వాహనము అంటే
గమనము కాదు గమ్యము ముఖ్యమనేవు

శక్తికి ప్రతిరూపైన తల్లిఉండి
ఇన్న్ని బలహీనతలతో ఏల ఉంటివంటే
సిద్ధి బుద్ధులను కలిగిన నాకు
కండ సిరులతో పని ఏమిటనేవు
జగము కోసము గరళము గుటకలేసిన ఈసుడు
కొడుకుపై కాసింత కనికరము కూడ లేదంటే
ఉదయాన తేజాన తీండ్రించు భానుడే
ఆనక హాయిని పంచు వెన్నెలవడా అనేవు
అన్నిటిన పోటీలుపడు షణ్ముఖుడు
అన్నగారన్న విలువ నీకేల ఈయడంటే
పెద్దరికమన్న ముందు పుట్టుట కాదు
ఒద్దికున్నవాడు పెద్దవాడనేవు

ఉన్నదంతా వింత, లేనిదానికి లేదు చింత
వైకల్యములెన్ని ఉన్నా వ్యాకులతతో గడపడీ గణేషుడు
అవలక్షణము కాదు అది విలక్షణమన్న మాట మరువడీ మరుగుజ్జువాడు

*** The lore goes when Vyasa picked Ganesha to pen his epic Mahabharata, the latter puts the condition that he would take up the job only if Vyasa continues his recitation unabatedly, to which Vyasa counters that Ganesha should only write what he understood well. That gave both of them the necessary breaks, while Ganesha paused to understand the meaning of the verse, Vyasa got the space to think about his next verse. And when Ganesha's pen gives away midway, he breaks one of his tusks and continues the dictation.
